Worktops and Floor
Worktops and flooring can make a huge difference to the final effect of a kitchen. There are many options, and we can of course give you our best advice on what works well with what, but on the whole, anything goes.
Worktops
Granite
Granite is by far the most popular material for worktops. Uniquely to Roundel Design, we install the granite at the same time that we install the kitchen to ensure a smooth, continual installation process. It is extremely precise work, for any slight miscalculation could mean costly mistakes. Granite is the ultimate solid and durable choice.
Maple
Maple is the main choice for wooden worktops, hardwearing as it is beautiful.
Corian
Corian is the original solid surface material. It is an advanced blend of natural minerals, pigments and pure acrylic polymer, and creates a unique surface in any kitchen or bathroom. This seam-free choice is hygenic and especially hardwearing.
Floors
Amtico
Amtico is very popular, both for its durability and comfort, plus a wide range of stylish designs.
Marmoleum
Made from reconstituted cork, Marmoleum gives a cushioned flooring effect. It is constantly chosen for its comfort and warmth.
Limestone
Limestone is a favourite, particularly as it is a local stone, very practical and works well with under floor heating.
Tiles
Tiled floors remain a strong choice, with many finishes including some very clever stone lookalike tiles. Nowadays the tiles are made from hardwearing porcelain and much less likely to chip or break when items are dropped.
